At The Regal Fig we provide a holistic and integrative approach to nutrition drawing upon the pillars espoused by the Institute of Functional Medicine.   Integrative Nutrition is a “whole person” centered approach recognizing and making use of all appropriate health practitioners to support a client’s journey to health. The relationship with the client is always central to the work we do. Functional Nutrition addresses “the underlying causes of disease, using a systems oriented approach by focusing on interactions between the environment and the gastrointestinal, endocrine and immune systems as it relates to diet and nutrition.”

What does this mean? Often times it means we pick up where your physician leaves off. We help you translate their recommendations into sustainable actionable plans involving uniquely designed diets and lifestyle changes to support your health and wellbeing or through an in-depth look at your diet and lifestyle we are able to make connections and dietary suggestions to support your nutritional and/or weight loss goals, or we may even suggest alternative healers and therapies where appropriate.

No one diet or way of eating is ideal for every body. Our bodies are amazing and complex and unique and perfect in their own right. Consuming the right foods for your body and the nutrients they convey while avoiding or eliminating those that aren’t can powerfully redefine your health.
